Finding the real problem

Getting a job quoted on a superyacht took too long, and it still ran the old way: one call or email per provider, then a wait to hear back. Meanwhile the yacht is only in port until Friday.

So we started from what each side needs. Crew want the job sorted while they are still alongside, and they want to ask the way they already message: WhatsApp, a voice note, a line of shorthand. Tradespeople want enquiries for work they actually cover, and room to price it honestly, as a range or after a site visit.

The job was to make quoting quick for the crew without making it more work for the trades. Every decision after that had to suit both.

  • Crew priorities
  • Trade priorities
  • Success: a quote the same morning

Brand

How it looks and sounds

YotPoint, the marine service register. The line says plainly what it is.

Deep navy carries the page. Teal marks anything you can act on, from the search bar to the button that messages Yotto. A single coral full stop finishes the headline.

The copy is written the way crew actually message each other: “Stabilizer weeping. Palma until Friday.”

Shaping the experience

It works by port and by problem. Every port has its own page, and Palma alone lists 84 providers.

Describe the job once and it goes to every provider who covers that work. They come back with a price range, and the crew picks who to take forward.

Anyone can browse without an account. The homepage shows how it goes: a request at 07:42, a quote back at 08:31.

Making it live and keeping it working

Crews can skip the site entirely. They message Yotto on WhatsApp, typed or as a voice note, and it finds the providers and asks them for a quote.

Crew, management companies and providers each get their own login. Management sees jobs from every vessel in one place, and card payments are built in.

Live since 2024 and now listing 292 companies across 129 ports. New features go live without breaking the ones captains already rely on.

  • Website
  • WhatsApp assistant
  • 3 kinds of login
  • Card payments
