Finding the real problem

Studio Rowan came with their first product, the Reusable Slider, and a date for the first shipment: April 2027. Before then the site had to find hotels and spas to pilot it, and take preorders.

Less waste gets a hotel interested. To switch, the buyer still has to know the slider suits guests and the budget. So the page makes the case in that order: the waste, then the product, then the money.

  • Audience: hotels and spas
  • One page, one ask
  • Success: pilot applications

Brand

Working from their guidelines

The brand was already done. Studio Rowan handed over their guidelines, and the job was to bring them to the web as they are: the colours, the type and the line, Leave less behind.

Guidelines are written for print and slides. A page that scrolls and moves needs things they don’t cover, like how the type holds up on a phone and how fast things move. We made those calls and kept each one inside the rules of the document.

Shaping the experience

One page that tells the story as you scroll. It opens on 70,000 dots, one for every pair of disposable slippers a single hotel throws away in a year.

Further down, the slider turns in 3D. On a phone it turns as you scroll. On a desktop you can drag it round and look at it from every side.

Then the money. Put in how many pairs the hotel gets through and the page works out the saving, in pounds and in kilos of landfill.

Build & launch

Making it live and keeping it working

The dots and the slider run live in the browser, on phones as well as desktops.

The last section takes pilot applications in 6 quick questions, and preorders for the first shipment.

The person who designed the page built it, so what got signed off is what went live.
